A half -day tour exploring the town and the island of MYKONOS with plenty of information about its story, history and people. We meet in FABRIKA Square and start the walking tour through MYKONOS town. Our route takes first to TRIA PIGADIA – the three wells which until 1956 was the city’s soul water source. We then walk through MATOGIANNI, the main shopping street and on to the pprox. front with its local fish and vegetable market. Here we will probably also meet the mascot of the island, PETROS the pelican. We continue our walk to PARAPORTIANI church one of the most famous samples of CYCLADIC architecture and one of the mostly photographed spots on the island. After that we visit the picturesque ALEFKANDRA area, also called “Little Venice” as the houses are built into the sea. Our last stop is at the windmills, which in the old days were used to grind wheat and from where we can enjoy a nice view over to “Little Venice”. Then we walk back to FABRIKA Square where our bus tour over the island begins. Our first stop is in PLATI YIALOS, one of the most protected and organized beaches on the South coast. We then continue to ORNOS Beach with its little fishing pprox. and drive on to the bay of AYIOS IOANNIS. Here we visit the little double church, which gave its name to the bay and we also can enjoy a nice view of Delos. Now we leave the South coast and drive past KORFOS and MEGALI AMMOS bay on the road bordering MYKONOS town that leads towards the port. We continue to AYIOS STEFANOS Beach and then to HOULAKIA bay where we have our next photo stop. Then the bus takes us over the new peripheral road to the village of ANO MERA with its cozy village square. Here we visit the monastery PANAGIA TOURLIANI which houses the patron icon of the island as well as some beautiful pieces of art like the marble bell tower from the island of TINOS or a wooden icon holder from Florence. Our next stop is at KALAFATIS Beach, famous for its relaxed atmosphere. Here by the seaside the group is being offered ouzo with “MEZE”. After that, we drive back to MYKONOS town and the last high light of the tour is a photo stop with an unforgettable panoramic view over the city. The bus drives back to FABRIKA Square where our tour ends.
